La Bella Angiolina's D.O.P. Riviera Extra Virgin Dolce Moliture Olive Oil is literally "sweet press" oil, produced from late-harvest Taggiasca olives produced in the Liguria region of Italy. This olive oil is velvety-smooth with an almondy finish. Made from La Bella Angiolina's own, hand-harvested Taggiasca olives. Some of the trees are as much as 400 years old. Great for salads, seafood, pestos and meat sauces. Use it for baking and even desserts too. D.O.P. stands for Denominazione d'Origine Protetta (Protected Designation of Origin) and is a classification system recognized by the European Union authenticating the unique qualities of gourmet food products based on their geographic region of origin. The origins of La Bella Angiolina go back centuries to a Ligurian folk heroine who created local dishes so delicious that she was named "the beautiful little angel."
