Colli Etruschi Extra Virgin Olive Oils
Colli Etruschi is a farm cooperative located near the Etruscan town of Blera. Under the strict supervision of agronomist Nicola Fazzi, their facility uses state-of-the-art equipment to produce the highest quality extra virgin olive oils.
Their innovative pressing is done with cutting-edge machinery installed and fine-tuned in 2012. This olive processing machine is the latest technological upgrade in processing equipment for olives that enhances both the quality of olive oil—including higher antioxidant count and more efficient extraction of pure oil—and the eco-friendliness of its production. It works by compressing olive processing from three steps to two, eliminating a step whereby warm water is added to help extract more oil from the olive pulp. Now, a special centrifugation process separates the oil, pits, and a “pate” component in one step, without any water being added. This not only preserves the oil’s content of antioxidants which would otherwise dissolve in the water and be carried away, but it also eliminates the amount of water consumed and expelled as waste.
The net result is better quality oil with less waste. Added to the fact that Colli Etruschi is a solar-powered olive press that utilizes only locally grown and harvested Caninese olives, it is natural that RITROVO® is prouder than ever to import this special extra virgin olive oil.
